If you import the soldiers objects.con into a Map, and then place the new Icon somewhere within the map folder, you can use the directy paths to point to another location besides Menu.

Neither does commonsoldierdata.inc

Looks to be one of those hardcoded things, so you might not beable to do this as a map specific mod.

If you put it in the appropriate folder in a map it will. You need a menu folder with the correct structure, I think it's Menu\Texture\MiniMap\minimap_icon_soldier_16x16. Not a texture folder, a menu folder!

To be fair, i have tried this:

Menu\Texture\MiniMap\minimap_icon_soldier_16x16.tga

I added the .tga because the other object minimap icons that are called are done this way, but Soldier is not an object.
