Put init.con in your patch file.
In init.con, put the line:
run mods
In a .con file called mods, copy the german desert kit, but rename it german_desert2 or whatever. Spawn it in objectspawns.con, and see if it works!

No, and I don't mod DC but I know this, not sure how/why, but at least some of the GerKits are converted to DC with DC items. The GerDesertKits aren't though. |

Yeah, apparently the German kits are the base template for the Opposition kits, just as the US kits (but not the US_Marine kits) are the base for Coalition. Anyway, how would I make a custom kit (we'll call it German_Assault2_Desert) that is server friendly? ~Lev |

sorry yes, you would find the german kit in bf1942's objects.rfa file, under item I believe. Look for German_Assault_Desert, then copy that info for the kit and put it in mods.con. It'll be a whole bunch of stuff. Now, I can't remember or look since I'm not at my computer, but the kit probably has networkable info somewhere...I would guess. You could try making the kit without it, or making it and putting the networkable info at the bottom of mods.con, instead of a seperate file like is usually the case. When you test this, is it in a true server side environment? I've known people that can do amazing things "server side", even though the mods are in their levels folder... just be sure you are if not. |

that should....work...maybe? If you want to test server-side on your PC..: 1) Copy your 1942 folder. 2) Paste it somewhere else on your comp 3) Put mods in the copied 1942 levels folder 4) Run dedicated server in root folder of copied 1942 5) Join local game on your regular copy! |
