well..i mean down the road yes possibly i would want to use it on a server or something. But for right now, i'm just trying to get it working on singleplayer before i go trying to run a server with it, do you know what im sayin? I unpack the _003.rfa to my desktop..i edit the confile with notepad..pack the extracted directory to rfa file named GuadalCanal_003...and i replace it back in the levels folder where i extracted the file in the first place. Reload the map? Every time i make a change i restart battlefield..if that answers your question. Exactly what i want to do is simply make the spawn time of the planes on GuadalCanal 6 seconds instead of over a minute. Once i can get to this work in singleplayer..id like to use it on server..possibly just a LAN server, i'm not sure. But really my goal at this point is to just get this to work on singleplayer. i ran battlefield..hit create server..ran it as an internet server..i blew up the plans and it Still took over a minute.

BUT - for the spawn times i have "04" ... should it just be 4 or what?

Egads...don't modify your original files.

First, get the server files back to normal. You have backups....right??

Once the originals are back, make a patch file:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3330

If it still doesn't work something is wrong. Oh, and yes, theres no reason to put: "02" if you want the spawn time to be 2 seconds. Just "2" is fine.

ok good, yet disappointed news..i'm an idiot.

my problem all along was i was editing the spawn templates for CTF-capture the damn flag...i cant Believe i didnt recognize this..im running the server on co-op..so i edited the co-op templates and now it Finall works..i really appreciate all you guys' interest..thanks

make sure you editing the right game type!
