dunno if its the "right" or "best" way, but i have a folder on my desktop called MODS, which contains subfolders for BF42 thru DCFX, i simply copy the map\level or file i want to mod, (ie. gazala.rfa), paste it in the proper folder, (ie. C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Desktop\MODS\BF42), rename it, (ie. Agazala.rfa) then open IT with winrfa, make my changes, click "save changes". copy that, place it into wherever im going to test or use it, delete the map im replacing, rename the new mod to the proper name, which all i have to do is just delete a letter, and voila! easier for me, all is in one place broken into their respective Game\Mod folder. dont mix them up with the original\virgin files. i do it this way so i dont lose track, gettin old, memory lol...
