YES! Finally got it to work with the Mortars, turns out the code Bob posted is exactly what you need to do, only thing i did wrong is i didnt have the placement values set correctly, spawned the item under the ground instead of above, hence I didnt see anything.

I've been considering creating a new type of "weapon"... and while it may not work server-side I'm almost certain mapside it will. My idea is this:
Modify the Engineer kit to drop a PCO mini-gun turret (the one thats on the AC-47 plane). Losnar and I have successfully used this PCO on several things... MUTT3, Huey-M-Class, and even just as a stand-alone turret. Check out some of our mods for examples: http://www.TKO.clanservers.com/mods.html

So, basically I want people to be able to carry around a portable mini-gun turret. They click... drop it on the ground, and hit E to enter it... just like a mortar. Hopefully when you're out of ammo or need to move the turret to a new place, you'll be able to press G to pick it up and move on. I'm certain this is possible... the only potential problem is what in the hell will we make it look like while you're carrying it? There obviously is no animation for carrying a mini-gun turret, so I guess we'd have to make it look like you're actually manning the gun. What do you guys think?

that sounds pretty cool... but what im trying to figure out map-side is creating an entirely new class of boat. dont try guessing what it is, not tellin yet. but basically i am, heres a little teaser of what it might be.

i think ive gotten the sumbarine ready to toy around with, like adding it in, i think ive isoated all the Gato files and i think its possible. i gotta add the files in a folder in the rfa i think, and all that good stuff. ill figure it out. its not impossible. its almost easy.. but its almost hard..


meanwhile my laser mouse needs new batteries
