Mortars got a pretty tricky code, that's for sure.

Tried a quick mod, instead on deploying the mortar i switched it the the OH-6, all it did was do the animation and nothing appeared, obviously more to it then im aware, but ill keep working on it, thanks though.

I haven't done it, so I don't know if it works or not.
But try to backtrack code and see what it does.
Sooner or later you understand if it works or not.

Artoo, i don't know where you want to go now...Server side? Client patch? Mod?
If it's a mod i think this would even work server side

Select the mortar, nothing weird, you get the mortar in your hand
Fire for deploying it... and jeep appears
I guess you can spawn any spawnable stuff then

It's a good start, just keep in mind ;
USMortar is the handweapon that fires MortarUS and that MortarUS is a Land vehicle with his own projectile...
The answer must be in the Handweapons/USMortar-NVAMortar codes that could finaly spawn any vehicle
Maybe there's a line in mortar spawns we could assign to any handweapon?

so then, c4 and timebomb would also work for that? since c4 is the weapon that gets thrown down? and grenades too? jsut some suggestions. smokebombs would work great i think. give the sniper a vehicle to run awway in.

Yes BoB, that was the code I thought was working.

Hal, weapons sort of spawn bullet.
But bullets are not vehicles.
Dropping a C4 on ground you just drop a C4 there. It's not a vehicle.
When dropping a mortar to ground you drop a vehicles.
-->A mortar is a vehicle!<--
That's why this is possible.
You can even make it spawn a kit.
And if you look at my Morter ammo code you can spawn many kits/vehicles.
And all this work serverside.
