I would like to add a heat targeting object to the NOS engines I use.
It needs to be active anly while the NOS engine is engaged (ie throwing a 10ft flame out the back).
I tired adding the heat object to the NOS engine and the effect, but in both cases the DPV (the test vehicle at the moment) always gave off a heat signature and not just while the NOS was being used.
Is there a way to make it so the heat sig is only active while the NOS in engaged?
I have one idea I have not tried yet, but if there is a better way I would prefer to do that instead. Anyway this is what I was thinking as a possilbe work around:
The decoy flare is just a firearm that that shoots a simple targeting object. What I was thinking of doing was makeing a similar device and setting its fire button to sprint (the nos key) and giving it a rate of fire somthing like 60 rounds per min, and then setting the new flare's lifetime to 1/60 sec. That would ineffect cause the NOS to constantly be shooting a falre out the back but have it die fast enough so as not have multiple targets or targets laying on the ground. I dont know if ttl can be set to fractions of a second though.
