I have done tons of server-side modding in BF2. Not only is it possible, but it is very powerful. I learned pretty early on that some changes crash some people, but I soon after learned (with help from a guy named Chief), that opening zip files and re-zipping them leads to problems, while replacing ...

Even with python, it seems impossible to add items which aren't already in the map. I'm sure the client only loads objects that exist on the map from the client point-of-view, so the only way to pull it off would be to find something which forces the client to load more objects (or tricks it into do...
