This is done with the object light maps...so no. :(

You can have a "light" type object on a vehicle and move around, but it won't cast light dynamically. What I did was render the lightmap in 3DSMax and saved it as a light map tga file to be applied to a static object.

i wonder, had this actually worked on the graphics card they had in 2002 lol :)

i think they rushed to get it out to as was not many game that actually had vehicles you cold get in and drive away at that time, but there was some on its way. remember some other games where you spawned then had to run around for some minutes trying find the enemy, got shoot, spawned again and had to run around alot again searching after the enemy as he had found a new hiding place

lol The 1999 Delta force game has quite few things that didn't show up in Battlefield untill BFV. Like the grass. It also has a few features that no (PC) BF game has yet. There was an actual animation for something "getting in a vehicle". In the first video I saw a guy get on the side of the helicoper. He didn't "teleport" into the seat. It showed him sitting down on to it. I'd like to see them try that in a battlefield game. :D

haha your right :D speaking bout teleportation i have had some weird experience lately, sometimes when a player switches from a aa gun in front to one in the rear (carrier) i have seen the player "flying" at supersonic speed from one to the other. it happnes when the server feels choppy or lill laggy.

would be fun to know exactly whats causing this as maybe one could "code" this to a mod map or something :)

will try and see if i can record it, lill hard to explain how it looks like

Theres a lot of things you can do with 3ds Max and other 3rd Party Applications. In-fact DICE used Photoshop for many of their mini-maps.

3ds Max can also be used to make first person animations for vehicles, and custom explosions, you can even make "organic" vehicles, like Striders from HL2 in 3ds Max with moving legs and bending bodies.

hmm. I'm not exactly sure how to set up lightmaps and all that. but wouldn't it be easier to just bake the shadow/light maps and the diffuse/color map for a final texture? that might be what your doing i'm not sure. all I know is that the "render to texture" tool is glorious. with it you can fake reflections, bump maps, shadow/light maps. it's really pretty cool.

lol i figure this out when i added lightmaps to a spaceship i made in 3dsmax.
then... in the game walla, the ship looked awsome...
Im a little pissed off tho... the ship got deleted some how or its just lost in my computer somewhere.
the ship was massive and the inside had lights, but the lighting was all da same...
so in 3dsmax i put lights in and... yeah it is amazing.
