Because they think only the geeks and nerds still play BF42 (which is kinda true, actually...) and I think most of the team they have now doesn't know (anymore) anything about BF42 and its coding . Oh yeah, best you can do is: renderer.fieldOfView 1.33 if you have 16:10. That almost eliminates the stretching. Definetly an improvement over the fatty soldiers&vehicles you get with FoV 1.0 ... |

Except increasing the FOV ends up "zooming" out in a sense your view. So things no longer appear to be the proper distance and it end up being a disadvantage since things are 'farther' away in a sense. |

The Special Forces and Armored Fury decisions were probably made due to complaints about certain unlockable weapons not being unlockable unless purchase of the xpacks had been done. So thats cool. 2 GB patch, hopefully some improved hitboxes. |

I never thought myself to be at a disadvantage. I mean, I have a 24" widescreen 16:10 (1920x1080). Now, if I set FOV to 1.33, sure, things get "zoomed out" a bit, sure, but I prefer the less-distorted view and the better HOR+ view definetly over the distance thing. It still is absolutely no problem to discern vehicles or people over ...1500 BF "metres". And I don't know any map that has further view distance in Vanilla. Some mods do, of course (e.g. BG42), but I don't recall ever having problems to spot enemies even over large distances. |

This is great, I couldn't find the BF2 collection anywhere, so I bought just the game for 10 bucks...Yay happy me. But BF2's greatest value is for playing PoE2 in single player. And modding it so the M82A1 and MP7 are in every sniper kit...and whatnot. It surprised me how similar it is to bf1942/bfv code, and there are also alot of codes that I would've loved to have when I did alot of modding in BF1942. Like, instead of a lexicon, in the equivalent of the objects.con for each weapon there's a line saying objecttemplate.sethudname "insert desired name here" So much easier... |
