Another suggestion would be regarding the games rfa files. It might be beneficial to us modders, (especially me) to zip up all the PURE Vanilla .rfa's in an unmodified state, and host them in the download section. That way if we ever need them to replace a corrupted file or fix a mistake, we would have them. |

yeah I think someone said something about that to. but I'm not sure what ever happened with that. it's not like .rfa's are that large are they? then zipped/rar'd there should be even smaller. hopefully W2K can enlighten us. |

It's kinda excessive to do that. I'd basically be hosting the entire server files. Just keep a separate duplicate copy of the server files and use that. Or you can always re-download the server file install and just take out what you want. |

All the vanilla .rfas? Sure, they only have 426MB altogether (without mapfiles...), compressed about 350MB, I gues... And it's not that a biggie to make backups of your files? And probably the file that usually gets screwed up is the objects.rfa, I don't think many people fuzz around the original sound.rfa (as there is absolutely zero need for that using patchfiles),standardmesh.rfa and texture.rfa. |
