Ok, first things first, rename the Thompson things to the name of your gun, this way there is no confusion on the part of the engine. Then go into the objects.con and let the gun share the same weapon skeleton as the thompson, just make sure edit all the Standardmesh add templates to match those of the Geometry con you just edited. This way the mesh parts will be added to the skeleton parts. But since you probably just have a single part for the entire gun (which will be easiest) just remove everything except the Base.
