TYPO Indeed I have never seen the block pertain to installing programs I always saw it keeping you from editing anything in the device manager or changing internet settings but never installing programs As far as downloading things and going to "no no sites" that's what they made flash drives and ultra surf for |

In fact today they edited the settings so if a student account plugs in a flash drive it doesn't read it I had to have a teacher move the files to a network-accessible folder so I could use them. The network here doesn't let you do much of anything except search the internet, and download [some] .pdf files. We have 2 laptop sets with less than 256mb of memory (judging by their speed) and several dozen desktops with ~ 512mb. Each has little harddrive (just enough for windows and the novell client) and uses the school's giant server with segmented drives, 25MB for each student and about 50-75mb for each teacher. There are rules that appear on the desktop of each networked PC that are extremely explicit, and it includes: No downloading anything, No installing Anything, no going outside of your student drive, etc...and a new one- No Student-owned flash drives or CD's are to be inserted into networked PC's. Makes it rather hard to turn in a digital project done at home, such as my German class final exam report in the form of a presentations x3 slideshow... On the other hand, we have several dozen multi-thousand-dollar PolyVision SmartBoard systems, yet we have stupid-ass rules and cheapo computers? There's so much wrong with my school...I could go on for hours. Hey, let's go offtopic again and gripe about our school/work conditions I have one more-This is 100% true I swear I didn't make this up..it's too crazy to make up. A group of friends and I recently uncovered a teacher conspiracy, it seems that many of the teachers at our school are cheating on their spouses with other teachers here. After our suspicions were raised by a simple rumor, a teachers aid gave us a timeline of one teacher's..shall we say, shenanigans, and alluded to many other such occurances. |

My science teacher is 27, has been married twice, and both times was/is cheating on her husband with another science teacher who's in his 40s. |
