im thinkering with this stats program named bfselect, and it driving me crazy kinda

iwé got the webpart running and now i need to get the parser running to, its supposed to inject the data into the database MSQL but no go yet.

i think i have to build a MSQL database localy and then update the remote with this instead, but im no guru at these things so if any friendly soul could help me with this i would appreciate it a lot!

I know what you mean about driving you crazy. It took me about 2 weeks to get everything working right. I'll help you with whatever I can. It's really neat once you get it all working right.

Do you have web hosting? A lot of web hosting won't let you access MySQL remotely, so that might be a problem.

well the php part seems to be stable now but the part bout updating the database is still tricky. i parsed all logfiles locally and injected the tables into the mySQL database to get it going.

You may need to check with your webhost. Many won't allow direct remote access to their MySQL server. Some do, but you may have to specifically allow an IP address to connect to it. That looks like the same as what I did, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working.

By the way, what version of everything are you using (Java, PHP, MySQL)?

thanks for the reply man, i have read up some more and i think the problem is that our web place are on a shared box so we have no uniqe IP but im gonna check with the support and see what they say.

also been checking out other more modern stats program and they seem to have a certain .php script thingy that can redirect the info to the database. so much to learn for a nooob lol
