To end recession, increase output. To do that, increase aggregate demand or magically increase short run aggregate supply.

To do that, you must increase spending. Deficit government spending is an excellent way to do that, assuming you cyclically balance your budget (to some extent) and use some of the inflationary growth to pay off some of that deficit. You can't grow your way out of all of the debt, but actually most of it you can.

And to supply siders: Who is to say we're on the upper (right) half of the Laffer curve anyway?

I just don't like it when congress passes something or rejects it because of who the president is, without reading most of the bill. We all know that this is what happened with the latest bailouts. Yes, Bush did some dumb things and put us in debt. Obama's plans will triple that, or at least double it. I'm just tired of not knowing wtf our tax dollars are doing. I have trouble believing that you (all of you) are happy with this state of tax affairs. To be perfectly honest, the majority of the protesters said that Bush was the blame for the start of this problem. There is some truth to the fact that it was dumped on Obama. But, that's not a good enough excuse to make it worse. The only other problem I have with him is that he seems intent on speaking gloom and doom. If the president says it will get better, it will. If he talks about how it will get worse and we can't stop it for some time, it will get worse.

Now, for CNN. They aren't crazy like MSNBC or the NY Times. They are liberal though. They covered the rallies, but they did it with such a negative tone. They interviewed one guy, and he was a little annoyed because he wasn't allowed to finish his point when he was cut off. So the reporter steps away and says that they're all angry and pissed off and want to destroy government....He was angry that the country has deviated so far from what the founding fathers wanted it to be. She also laid the blame on fox, and yes they advertised it, but that may be because they realized its time for people to remember that this country was founded on the ability to disagree with government. When the government, or the news, is telling me I shouldn't anymore, that's when bad things start to happen. (Speaking for the whole of the country here not me just me-remember the American Revolution?). There is one way to stop this. Next congressional election, vote out every incumbent. I don't care what side they're on. Vote them all out. We can't let them keep passing laws that don't do anything except line their wallets. We literally can't afford it.

And I know very few will actually read this because its two whole paragraphs.

You do realize people like Rush Limbaugh, and the very extreme News Anchors at Fox are fueling an anti-president rhetoric which is leading, not only to negativity in the country, but also the growth of racist, and extremist groups like the KKK or Neo Nazi's of America.

CNN is liberal, yes, but CNN is not on late night TV yelling at professionals to get them to agree to their ideas.

Anti-president? Ok, fine. Say that. But look at what every network did when Bush was in office. That was anti-president too. But you will never admit that. BECAUSE IT'S THE TRUTH

There's something I want you to explain. If Fox is so extreme and right wing and whatnot, why do their ratings pass MSNBC, CNN, and ABC combined? I guess the majority of the country, like me, has a brain and can see that they're as balanced as it can be in this world. I guess nobody on this forum has a brain. And if they do, why don't they speak up? Seems only the stupid ones post reply to threads like this. (No smartasses I didn't call myself stupid)

What you don't understand is that Fox has high ratings only because it appeals to the large number of conservatives out there who honestly believe what Fox is preaching is what being a Conservative means.

There was anti-presidential rhetoric against George Bush, yes, but unlike George Bush the anti-presidential rhetoric that is spawning from people like Rush Limbaugh, and companies like Fox News, has reached a new fever pitch which can't be controlled. You get Fox News anchors almost leading a makeshift Rebellion against the union by inspiring millions of people to go marching on a street yelling either one of three things. 1.) We hate black people. 2.) We don't like Socialism (which Obama is no where close to). or 3.) He's a Muslim!

Fox News is still fueling the fears which should be long forgotten in this society, just as Rush Limbaugh is leading actual Republicans in the house and senate to make moves for Political Gain. Would these politicians listen to Rush on any other basis? No, but they want to now because they see that Rush stands out in the eyes of the average conservative American as the shining star in the night sky, thus they exploit this and get trust from those people by saying, "Yea rush is right!".

People didn't hate George Bush because of the color of his skin, or because he was a bad president (which he wasnt). People hated him for not standing up to his goons, Dick Cheney, and Condileezza Rice when he needed to. George Bush was not by any means a bad President, but he was a man who couldn't stand up against his coleuges. If you want to blame someone for George Bush's failure, just look at the Neo Conservatives that sat next to him around the Oval office. Dick Cheney especially was one of those men which pushed Bush to invade Iraq, regardless of the need to, because Dick Cheney knew his stocks would rise almost exponentially, and they did. Dick Cheney is also one of those people which believes in Grand American Empire, and it was under his leadership and the biased decisions of Condileezza Rice.

I'm going to wholeheartedly agree with the second half of what you said. Bush wasn't a bad president, but in many situations he lacked something the leader of a major country needs- Balls. To stand up to his "advisors" when they advise him incorrectly, and to do what he believes is right. I believe that going into Iraq and Afghanistan was something he believed in, or he would've pulled out when America got angry at that decision later. And I am a little shocked that Obama hasn't pulled them out already, although I think the Iraqi government still needs our help so I'm glad.

The first part does sort of baffle me though. Fox never told anyone that we should be racists, nor did they report that Obama was a Muslim. And also, the ratings demographics prove that the proportion of Democrats and Independents/Moderates that watch them completely destroys the number of conservatives or Republicans who watch them.

And I still think, that fixing the economy and Washington can only be achieved by voting out all the senators and congressmen, and then impose limits on the number of terms, just like the president's. All the backdoor deals that they have made with companies have put them all in a big ass hole, and it takes new people who have fresh ideas to pull us out. Being a public
servant was never meant to be a lifelong career.

I can honestly say that I've never heard those things from anyone. Show me the clips I'm sure something like that would be on youtube. If I have proof I will believe it. Also I edited my previous post while you were posting.
