it's a bf1942 with better skyboxes, trees, shadows, and explosions. whoop-di-doo. looks like their sad that they failed at bf1942 and decided to remake a pacific only version.

But really...it WOULD be great, if it was a purchased game. Free, and 3 maps....wow, don't strain yourselves too hard EA/dice! Hopefully theres room for modding...but eh.

Ivé been waiting for a bf1943 for many years, thats if they do it properly and keep the feeling from bf42 but add 6 years of programming development.

3 maps and free download sounds a bit suspect.

edit:havent bf 2142 some sort of temp download for mods? A full bf1943 with this feature would be a dream for a modder

Doesn't say anywhere that it will be free. In fact they said the opposite. I'd imagine it'll be quite cheap.

Also it's called Battlefield 1943: Pacific, which probably means we'll see Europe, Russia and North Africa if this one goes well.
