if you use a no-cd key patch you will get kicked by punkbuster and the MD5 Tools

There are no-cd CRACKS and there are no-cd PATCHES.

Cracks let you install and play the game with an invalid/null CD-key that is the same for all people using the crack. They play on cracked servers only, or play singleplayer.

No-cd patches simply make it so you do not have to insert the CD into the drive. The CD does nothing to add to gameplay, and can be removed as soon as the main menu/server browser appears. It only checks when you first start the game and that is all it is used for. Your CD-key is stored in the Windows Registry and is still used and you still have a keyhash and still can be banned. PB and Pure servers do not kick/warn you for this. I use a no-cd PATCH.

Not true, if the No-CD patch even replaces a single file in your Battlefield 1942 directory, most commonly the games executable itself, the MD5 Tools on the servers will see the indescrepancy in the file versions, and will kick you off of the server you are playing.

Well i consider that lucky, any time ive tryed ive been kicked

thanks for sorting that out why

the server admin can set up what files the md5tool should check out, so theres not automatically a kick with using the no-cd patch.
