When servers implement mods, but then ban people who use them that are not part of the "select" group who gets to know about them. Or when they ban people for sharing information about the mods to other players, like me.

A few days ago I got banned off of one of a server, which I played on semi-regularly, because I was telling other players on my team how to take advantage of various mods that the server was using that was not advertised very well. I thought it would give our team a legitimate edge considering the map was already modded in the advantage of the other side (blue) anyway.

Oh well. It's not like there aren't plenty of other servers to play on anyway, but if one server keeps banning so many people, eventually there will be no players left to play! There are only so many BF1942 players left...

Dude, totally lame. What server was this if you don't mind my asking? Don't say berlin jeeps and planes. If you'd rather not share publicly PM me plz!

I've wanted our clan to have a mod server for some time, but never did much about it. Right now I'm starting to work on a few maps for a modded server, maybe 20-30 slots, just a place for people to go blast away without having to worry about score, or stupid admins, or being TKed (FF off), etc etc.

Like you said, with so fewer people playing, there's no reason to be an idiot and possibly drive away more people.

edit: it sounds totally stupid if you ask me, the big reason for modding is to make the server funnier, working better and attract more players. sure many players dont even notice small things like the grass has a bit more grip an such, but it is the overall feeling and gameplay thats matter.

if they ban because they have put modded stuff in there they are way out of line.

Wow, that's way out of line. Although, I have been growing my banlist lately. People just don't listen. They spawn rape, they glitch, and recently, seems we get alot of people who put on our clan tags and try to tell us their in the clan wen they're not. And I kick them because they don't listen when I tell them to stop. Then they come back and do it again. So !ban but I've never banned anyone for something as stupid as that or even heard of it till now.
