Somehow my flashplayer has been uninstalled, and when I go to Adobe.com and reinstall it, it says it has worked...but it hasnt. I can only play videos that have been embedded in a webpage, such as those that are linked from youtube. But if I go to youtube and click a video it says I need the flashplayer. To confirm that its installed I went to the adobe folder in program files and it isn't there.... I don't know what to do, can anyone help?

read the whole post....it isn't installing even though it says it was installed, there is no flash player installed in the hard drive.

Use regedit take teh adobe out of windows registry
hi-jack this to remove the other traces?
(then reinstall adobe after a reboot)
regedit is in most installs of windows up to XP in a windows folder

java on or off is in internet settings if using IE
if firefox its under tools/options/content

what is regedit and what does it do?
Also, now im more confused, I can watch videos that are embedded in any webpage, but if I go to youtube I can't.... wtf? If javascript is the problem how do I enable it?

Well I'll try the java but kitten, its not a run/save. It comes up as an ActiveX control to install, its Install or Don't Install.

Ok, I installed Java, it still doesn't work, I reinstalled flashplayer too, now what?
