Think about it.

The servers you play on (lots of popular ones) are usually on a dedicated box that the clan is running. How can EA say "you sir! stop running battlefield on that server!" ?? Its their server to do what they want with, no one can tell them what to do.

bad rumor. It's funny though, you can see where it started (a few days ago).

I think what they are sayg ice is that they are able to shut down "ther" big mama server which would simply no longer display the server list even tho you can still join them

That's a GameSpy server, not EA!
If that goes, all gaming goes kaputt.

EVEN IF the gamespy servers go kaput, you can join by IP...or xfire list.

When there was that huge problem with gamespy, I didn't even know. I search servers in xfire, my favorites, or recently visited. Click the server, hit connect. No BF main menu...just loading into the server u want.

Yea, I didn't know either, lol, till a friend who refuses to use his favorites tab in bf told me. I wouldn't have known anyway cause I usually only play on my own server, and I just join thru RM.
