Yes that's probably the problem right there. Here's another topic about the same thing:

If you are running the server manager yourself, try to get BFVSM 2.0. Apparently it will recognize those characters in your name, while 2.01 won't.

sweet ur rite... lol BUT lol why does it take a few tries for the command to actualy work?
that sucks i realy wanted to keep my alts name lol
