It just occurred to me: Windows XP came out in 2002. It is now 2009. It has been out 7 years. There are people on this forum in the age range of 14-16. This means they have been, most likely, using Windows XP since they were 7-9 years old. Therefore, it is virtually the only operating system they have ever used extensively. Therefore, they do not want to switch to Vista or some other new operating system. That is a flaw Microsoft let happen. Windows XP had been out so long before a worthwhile successor came out that a large majority of the gaming-age young to mid teenager population has never used anything other than XP before (that they can remember well enough as a power user). It might be a good explanation on why so many teens want Macs too. Although that's not usually the power users anyway, so the point kinda falls apart there. |
