Over at [TLB] The Lazy Bastards we have a 34 slot server...which is frequently full and never empty. We've been mostly full for at least a year and a half.
Good admins are the key. Keeps it fun to play for everyone if you get rid of the clowns quickly and are fair with the admining. Lord knows we aren't perfect, but we try. And we have a enough members from different time zones and countries that there is usually a TLB member on.
And we have only ever used vanilla BF. No custom maps. Not even RTR or SW. That way no one gets booted for not having the right map/pack.
BTW we were the ones hitting up CC-Vortex for his maps.
We are so sick of how some of them play out. Omaha, Kursk, OMG, etc.
We have since learned how to mod them ourselves. I feel better about not copying someone else's stuff exactly and we can add our own flavor. But like Vortex said, we aren't going to go crazy with the changes. Just minor changes to improve gameplay.
