Yep. Most of the mod doesn't actually use any BF2 meshes. But in my improvements, I added the BF2 Tunguska, Jeep FAAV, and Humvee meshes.

I also added the UAV Trailer meshes in place of the old stationary Stryker meshes and also ported the BF2 UAV Mesh to replace the existing one which was from DCX. (a lot of this mod seems to use DCX stuff)

But that pails in comparison to what DCAV is currently doing. He's working on a mod for BFVietnam that ports a sh** load of BF2 stuff (also ports entire DC mod to BFVientam as well)! But his mod is more of a private mod so you would have to strike it lucky to get your hands on that mod.

So it seems it can be done in BFVietnam serverside....Not sure about BF1942 though. AddTemplating the parachute to stuff doesn't seem to slow the descent down. Not in BF1942 at least.... I have no idea what the BFV code for that USMobileSpawn looks like.
