If you would be to do this stuff CSM for vehicle parts, it is perfectly possible to also have "random" weaponry or even physics. In theory, everything can be randomized this way. Though one has to be very careful to put the NetworkableInfo right. Randomizing is very likely to produce lags/network OOS as the parts have to be labeled right. I think when FH introduced these, there were some hefty problems in onlineplay caused by them.
But they definetly would spice up many maps and allow for easy simulation of"field modifications", which were very common especially on the Eastern Front (Russians more often than Germans, as their technical design of their vehicles allowed for quick adaptions to almost any kind of weapons: be it "looted" German weapons, be it other scrapped Russian vehicles, be it Lend&Lease material).
But this would make it more useful for "big" mods which have the proper amounts of contents to simulate these modifications (e.g. FH or BG42).
