If you want to find your exact numerical location on a level, you have to bring up the Statistics Screen. This is an visual overlay that is projected on screen in game. It shows many details of the game such as your exact x-y-z coordinates, fps, number of textures loaded, as well as tons of other usefull information. _____________________________________________________________ To start the overlay simply: [1] Enter the game. [2] Bring up your console using the "~" key. This is located just below the "Esc" key on most keyboards. [3] Enter in the command "console.showstats 1" !Do not enter the quotation marks! [4] The player coordinates read-out is located on the lower right-hand side of the screen. [4.5] Subtract 1 from the vertical coordinate to make it at ground level. [5] Angles can be determined by simply looking at mini-the map while facing in the direction you want to find. North represents 0, South represents 180 degrees, East represents 90 degrees, and West represents -90 degrees. [6] To turn the overlay off simply enter "console.showstats 0" or exit the game. _____________________________________________________________ Using this read-out can save you tons of time when positioning objects around your maps. Just be sure to remember that the altitude read-out represents the height of a players eyes while standing regaurdless of "prone" and "crouch" stances. |

i've been using this method alot, and have found that if you wanna place a weapons kit, subtract 1 from you're z axis. this will put the kit perfectly on the ground. |

I prefer to use Battlecraft. The only thing you have to remember is to backup your map files before opening them in Battlecraft. It is very easy to save a map in battlecraft by mistake and this will often make the map unplayable on pure-servers. |
