so what exactly is it that makes an effect appear on a vehicle. like you can't add the panzer trail effect to a willy as an armor effect and have it appear. but the smoke and fire that is on a willy appear. I compared the code of each effect and I don't see what make it appear or not. |

Effects are a completely different matter. There is no need to use effects for armoreffects, you can set the meshes/effects you want to use wherever you want, they can be simpleobjects or whatever. Didn't try PCOs yet, but I can't think of any good use for that. Discussing effects themselves should be continued in a different topic, as they are very different from all other objects and not that easy to understand. There are many new and unique parameters and codes involved... The Panztrail effect probably has a requirement of a minimum speed to make it appear, as it basically is a emitter creating small grey puffs along its path of trajectory, making it useful for fast travelling projectiles. EDIT: Network tests were perfomed and my method works smoothly. |
