Hey, not sure if this one has been discussed before, discovered while working on something else.
I increased the mass of the soldier, and noticed while in the water the soldier now swims much faster then the default. Of course it's not perfect, first few times in the deep areas soldiers would get stuck and sink to the bottom and resurface.. then sink again..
So Added a floater and lowered the mass slightly seems to work pretty well.
ObjectTemplate.Active USSoldier
ObjectTemplate.mass 6250 <== Higher Mass = More Speed
ObjectTemplate.addTemplate ShokakuFloater <== Probably use any Floater ~ Feel free to experiment
ObjectTemplate.speedMod 0 <== Optional
ObjectTemplate.DamageFromWater 0 <== Optional
Of course this leads to other side effects, such as, soldiers now have the ability to push tanks around like tin cans.. Perhaps increasing the mass of tanks would eliminate this..
The higher the mass the more floaters you'll need.. you can get some pretty insane speeds. Too bad something like this didn't speed up walking speeds..
UPDATE:
Sorry guys, I got a bit ahead of myself and didn't test in the retail before posting. I just tested in the Retail 1.61b and it does not work.
