 Post subject: Midway 1942 ss help

Ok ive been trying to add a control point in the little village across from the hanger for the past 2 days. At first i added a whole new control point and new soilder spawns. This would make every one crash to desk top. So after poking around the forums here i read that you cant add new control points SS, but you could just move an existing one. So thats what im trying now. I moved the south sea flag onto the island by changing the coordinates. Then i had to add ObjectTemplate.spawnGroupId 22 to it so that i could attach my soilder spawns to it. Instead of making new soilder spawns i just borrowed old ones and changed thier id number to 22 which i set before. This still causes every one to crash to desk top. Can you not play around with control points and soilder spawns at all Server Side? Or i am just not seeing something that im doing wrong. Any help would be aprreciated.

Hey cole,

I think it would be best to try a fresh patch file, but only changing 1 or 2 things at a time. I noticed you changed the name of the flag...but I don't know if that would cause a crash?

Good read. About next week I am also trying adding a new spawn serverside and it should be possible just havent tryd it serverside yet. Will let you know once I got it working.

Ok, I started over and tested it after each step. Moving the control point goes ok. Adding a spawn id to the control point is ok. But when i change the spawn id on an existing soilder spawn to make it now attached to the new flag location it is causing the game to crash. So i tried making new soilder spawn and same thing happens. So i have a flag with a spawn id but not able to make soilders spawn there. Baby steps.

Hmm. I didn't think that would cause a crash, but I didn't know.

Only thing I might suggest is ripping the soldier spawn from a vehicle (midway uses all though) and see if that would work, or cause a crash...

Yup i tried that. Added a sub way up in the air and made 4 spawn spots for allied. But they were always able to spawn there even if they didnt have the flag. Then if axis had the flag, i didnt add the spawn points because i was just testing how it would work on allied, you could get in the sub way in the air. Then if you moved it, it would fall on the airfield. Havent laughed that hard in a while. We had alot of fun with spawning on the sub in the air. But i dont know how to make it so once one team takes the flag the other team could no longer spawn. Ohh i removed the actually sub spawns from the map, who needs em any way.
