Has anyone experienced the problem of the game crashing when trees are added?

When the loading screen appears for the map, the bar goes like 1/4 of the way then the game crashes..

Does anyone have a solution?

I added trees into my map with ED42.

When i play the map, i can get into the game fine.

but when it loads the map (ex. Loading [MAP NAME]), the loading bar reaches like almost half way and then the game crashes to my desktop. It just disappears

Good. at least you can debug this error. If it was "Windows Error Report" type crash, this would be much harder to find the problem with.

First you need to run the game in window mode. Find the VideoDefault.con file. It's in the settings folder found in the BF1942 mod folder. The fullscreen setting should be the first thing listed in the file. Set it to zero and then the game should run in a window.

Try loading the map again. This time the game should pop up a error message at the moment it crashes. (it will show Abort, Retry, and Ignore as the button choices)

Tells us what the error message says. It would help out a lot. :D

How many statics (by statics I mean trees mainly) does your map contain? That might be the problem. Remember, the more trees, the more lag.
