Battlefield Modding Tutorials BFMODS

Anybody know how to change the graphic on the kit icons on the spawn screen. I think ive narrowed the problem down to having to modify this file "Menu.rfa\MENU\InGame" ... which from what ive read is in MemeFile 2.0 format. It can be edited in the MDT tools, but does anyone know if its possible to load/run this file inside a map?

In DC 0.7 ive narrowed the kit icons down to "Menu.rfa\MENU\Texture\Weapon\icon_Coa???.dds" & 1942 "Menu.rfa\menu\Texture\Kits\icon_???_???_selected"

As ive read in other furom posts ive tried adding my custom texture to "mapname\menu\Texture\Weapon" & "Kits". Ive also tried "mapname\texture" & "mapname\textures" ... nothing seems to work.

Im just full of questions & problems.

In a kits code will be directories for which textures each kit uses, search the Menu.rfa for these files and modify them, or create your own folder in the menu.rfa, and point your kits there.

Is it possible to do this without changing the menu.rfa? Can it be done within a map?

it may be possible, but it would require some experimentation, I think you are one of the best new comers to this website I've ever seen, you understand what your doing and are not afraid to experiment and work with the code yourself, I have good confidence that you can figure out any problem you may have.

From the looks of things however, I have to ask, are you making a client side mod for bf1942? or a Map Side mod? If its a map side mod many things are possible.
