Hey I am curious if it is possible to skin a solider and actually not have the skin touching the surface of the model, like example

Image

In order to do that you had to make a custom man and do a skeleton wrap? or is this some crafty skinning?

(On The man ofcourse)

Lemme iterate on what im trying to do here,I am trying to make the solider look more like a paintball player instead of a solider which would require me to make his cloths a bit more baggy and remove the tucked in pants and make it more like busting a sag lol

I'm no 3d modeler guy, but there must be some parts of the 1942 soldier that illustrate wth I mean..

Basically...take the current soldier, and just 'pull out' the costume. That will make him look like he's wearing more 'layers' of clothing. To give the illusion of a jacket or say a jersey thats kind of baggy at an edge...lets say the bottom of a jersey top...go around the bottom edge and pull it out from the rest of the upper body. Then make a new set of verticies(? I think?) below that, and set it into the body. That should give the illusion of a heavy/baggy jersey over regular clothes/body. Maybe I should make a picture, lol

EDIT: EPIC PAINTBRUSH SKILLZZZZ

EDIT edit: apparently thats too much work. Then you're gonna have to shade your textures. I think. lol. Pretty sure thats the only way to give the illusion of bagginess without changing the ske, as u says.

Changes to the solder models will require you either A.) spend a long time editing the existing ones, or B.) take the easier rout and spend a few days learning how to do it yourself. After which time you will have to use the Skin Modifier to get him properly moving, and Unwarp Modifiers to texture him.

You'll figure that out on your own as usual...
