Okay, I'm aware of how to apply floaters and make vehicles amphibious, but what I'm trying to do is allow certain vehicles to ford water, that is, cross through shallow parts without taking damage up to a certain depth, i.e. the top of the wheels/tracks.
Not sure how that's done, any ideas?
Oh, and this is primarily for the DC Humvees and Stryker.
Thanks.

Hmm, not sure the original post is clear...

I want to make some vehicles able to go about halfway under water before damage starts happening.
okay, that looks a little better. :p

I already understood your first post, bu I think that's a bit tricky, considering BF42 usually only differs between "over water" and "underwater", there is no variable for the depth of the water one could use... Put your tank in a 5cm deep puddle and it will get damage from tanks...either they don't get damage from water at all (set in objects.con just at the beginning) or the do...nothing in between, I fear. Perhaps one could work around with floaters and a edited collision mesh to make the vehicle invisibly "hover" above the ground, but that would be lots of work and probably very glitchy.

This is not entirely true. There are parts of the vehicle that, when they touch the water, trigger the "activate water damage" control. If you load up Omaha Beach on DC .7 (maybe it's still true on DC Final) and then take the T-72 tank into the ocean, it will not be damaged for quite a while. You can drive it out pretty far, and some places it is fine, and some places it takes damage, depending on depth. Once you hit "deep" water, where the bottom appears just as blue and not land, it will fall and take damage.

On DcFinal bocage I drove an Abrams into the river and drove around for several seconds before damage started
