why do only the small servers get hit so hard?

Do you have PB?

Are you sure you're banning by IP? BFRM doesn't ban by ip, but keyhash. I had a dumbass come on our server with the name "UnlimKeyswProxySvr" after he got banned twice by another admin...i banned his IP and guess what? he didn't come back.

When hes in the server:

In bfrm, right click his name. Choose 'copy player to clipboard'. Paste in notepad. Ban him. Add his IP to his ban manually (type it in, hit save). Bingo.

Yes ice I did this but he still came back and guess what he still had the same IP

Had to have done something wrong.Even with one keyhash,you can find most all other names/keyhashes they hide behind.
It's actually quite easy to get rid of the unruly folks,even the ones who think they are untouchable.

Those are the fun ones.....

When they know they can keep coming back and being idiots,they will.......

It gets really fun when you have their IP :twisted:
