That's the problem I have too, and I'm still not close to an answer.
Theoretically, the ObjectTemplate.loddistance of the emitter controls how far out you will be able to see the effect, but raising that didn't work for the panzshoottrail. Should work for your static effect, though.
I'm not sure if the panzshoottrail effect is culled out or "expires". good test object is the katyusha: If you fire high while driving forward (yeah well, I made my katy one-seated to raise combat value to a proper value), you can see that your first rocket trail (which also is a panztrail effect) stops earlier than the second one, though you have closed in already, as you are driving forward. IS there a time limit hidden somewhere?

It's not like they contradict each other...
Also the looping 1 is already there. Setting a fixed TTL doesn't do any good either, as expected.
