Battlefield Modding Tutorials BFMODS

Hello everyone. I started trying to make BF mods yesterday.

How do you make a map that can be played in single player with bots? When I make a new map in battlecraft the single player box is shaded out so I cant press on it.

ah ha...well, lucky for you there is a lot of information on the subject. I've made a few maps, but all for multiplayer. I've planned on adding bots to some of my maps, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. So while I don't have a lot of firsthand knowledge to share, I do have some good links..:

The battlefield single player forums contain a lot of information on bots/single player maps.

Cajun Wolf has quite a few tutorials, namely some with bot pathmapping.

The BFSP forums have lower traffic than SSM.com, and there are a lot of people here who know how to work with bots...sometimes its good to ask difficult questions in both; you'll get some good answers.

the best tool i found so far for adding bots is "Battlefield Singleplayer Creator". This tool helps add bots to the map and makes the game generate the pathfinding maps.
then you can use botinator, photoshop, or any other photo program that supports the .raw files to fine tune the paths.

Well I used Botinator to set up the files and (I edited the original files in the editor uses as they won't work in multiplayer) and used the debugger for pathmaps. I still hand edit them on most occasions, but any map that won't crash on pathmap generation is a map I can add bots to. One map: "Baghdad Dawn" is the only map thus far that I actually did a whole bunch of AI Meshes just to get the map to generate pathmaps.
