I have a challenge for all you '42 scripting gurus. I know a few of you still lurk out there.

I wish to make guided exploding camels.

I'm hoping that someone with the expertise can guide me in the right direction, or in turn let me know flatly if this is even possible. As a neophyte to 42 modding, I envisioned this happening by replacing the cruise missile/SA-3 SAM/Patriot Missile models with the camel model, but have enough sense to appreciate that it's probably not that simple. I guess I should inquire as to whether or not these missiles are even considered objects that can be swapped? If not, could I rescript the SAM/Destroyer for it to fire camels, and how would I go about doing that in a non-brain melting way? Also, would it be possible for these launched camels to retain their original functionality as well as the properties of the missile? Could I stand atop the patriot and quickly mount the camel as it was launched, and therefore ride the flying guided camel of death?

I am willing to shag anyone that can help me.

Um... Flying guided camels of death?
If you make a vehicle like a jeep, but with the camel geometry, and 1 seat on top for a rider. Then, make the wheels invisible, make it fairly slow (unless you want "flying camels of death?") and then make a carbomb as shown . It makes more sense to do it this way, making a new vehicle, than to make the missile launchers fire your camel. If you want it to fly, use the code for plane wings and whatnot, and give it's engine rocket-like properties. Or addTemplate a rocket engine, and set it to right click for bursts of speed.

Um...It's a four legged animal as far as I know. I don't know of any vehicles in DC called camels.

I do remember there was a camel on a few select DC maps. However all it does in the vanilla DC files is spin around in place and is stationary. I recall the camel object files being in the map RFA of the map(s) it was used in. So you won't find in in the main DC mod files!

Well, you got yer cool camel known as "Carmine Da Camel"


Then you got yer giant mutant camel that chases you around the map, taking all the bases while eating everything in sight unless you stop it with lots of bombs ( 80000 hit points ).

( the only safe place to be is sitting on top of it's head or hump )

A huge dark camel that emerges from the watery depths and shoots torpedos from it's nostrils.

The "Unicamel"
A big camel with a horn on it's forehead that shoots scud missiles.

The "Saber Toothed Camel"
A large camel with fangs that eats soldiers and then ploops out boby parts from it's rump.
