..revisited. I would be very greatful if anyone could take a look at this and possibly see something that I'm missing.

The jist of what the problem is: There are 2 B17 bombers for allies on this map, each with a different name. With the plane named 'Old666', all i did was rename the B17 but have it point to the B17 textures, which I updated. I made a second plane, Memphis Belle, and gave it a different skin...but this time I renamed all the standardmesh/texture files to 'MB' instead of 'B17'. To be sure it wasn't a bad texture, I took 3 of the b17 textures that worked, renamed them 'MB', and still no dice.

Any ideas?? Here is a zipped version of the map:

I have done this with the zero and it worked first try. when I get back from church I will take a look. :razz:

have you tried making it in object out of a custom map? if not i will try that but i don't believe that the problem lies within that. I think that most likely there is something wrong with your actual textures and how you have them set up.

someone said you could copy and rename meshes like this in another thread but im sure it causes problems..

yes.. although you are renaming the subshaders with the new model name too, it cant find them... they dont exist. you need to call the ones in your model... if you dont use 3dmax then edit the sm files with a hex editor. that worked for me too. then clone to your hearts content..

I believe fo0k's got it right.... the only problem that makes sense is that the mesh is screwed up.
