I have never been able to see any of these things work ingame..?

what does waveheight/scale do? I guess it sounds pretty self explanitary but I see no 'waves'

Never noticed clouds.. although I always leave them in skyandsun..

Never seen lens flare/corona etc in game..

The lens flares you can see. Just look at the sun usually.

The Wave height is a value used by the Waters Bump and Normal maps to create the "height" that the normal map will show, A normal map adds detail that actually isnt modeled onto the water. You'll never see Waves per say, just more ripples in the water.

Clouds i cant say much on. never figured out their use myself.

Everything works in combination with your graphic card settings.
