Sorry to bump an old thread... but... couldn't you just remove the spawn point(s) you still see the spawn indicator for, making it a control point only? And once the base is capped, a sub could spawn way up in the air and become an airdrop spawn point for the control point?

Have you tried fiddling with the settings in the "spawnPointManagerSettings.con" file? (found in the game mode folder your modding). That file tells the game what team each selectable spawn group belongs to. (set team to 0 for neutral!)

If you can't find the file (perticlury on a DC or other mod map that mod's the vanilla BF42 maps...Sometimes the mod in question doesn't change that file, so it won't be present in their rfa's) you may need to grab it from the vanilla 42 map(s).
