what about the other way around?
I found this pic, and its supposed to be from a pb enabled server with pure content check on.

It's probably been explained or something and I've seen a lot of threads but I haven't seen any that have said if it's possible to SS skin. Is it? Like can I... add a mustang to El Alamein, put the texture in a folder in the map file and then direct in the init.con and would it work? I want to skin really bad. Please help with this! -Aaron |

No. You can not change graphics server side. |

It is possible to change the skins on the client, but you can only connect to non-pure servers. Generally, the only pure servers out there are classic BF1942 and the two expansions. They are identified by an icon in the server-browser, but I forget what. |

So basically you could customize the look of your guns, vehicles, character ect, but only you'd be able to see it? Or you can do it, just the server side folks wouldn't be able to see it? |

Pretty much you can, Edit Skins Edit Effects Make Yourself Have 3rd Person Capabilitys You can add extended kit parts like Backpacks and HipPacks etc. Lotsa Cosmetic Stuff for yourself. Is another reason why Content Check servers are nice, because things like 3rd Person and Transparent Buildings can be done client like this. Giving Some People A Big Advantage. And Punkbuster is none the wiser |
