ok.. i hope this will help. lets keep this simple.
there are two files of concern here:
1) ObjectSpawnTemplates.con
In this file, you'll find the definitions of what we call "spawners". spawners have names that are defined when the dev who made the map made them up. You'll see names like uh-60spawner, dpvspawner, deathtankspawner, mymotherinlawspawner, etc... now each of these spawners can spawn two vehicles: one for team 1 (opfor), and one for team 2 (cofor)
you cannot make new spawners. all you can do is change the vehicles that they spawn. and that's it for this file.
2) ObjectSpawns.con
in this file, we create vehicles, or weapons in our map by using the spawners. (notice, the spawners by themselves don't create anything in the game). we can add, delete, do whatever we want to to this file, as long as we use valid spawners. a valid spawner is one that is defined in ObjectSpawnTemplates.con. so if if a valid spawner was "chopperspawner", and if the chopperspawner was defined as the HIND for team 1, and the apache for team 2, then i could create 50, or even a 100 of these in my map with:
object.create chopperspawner
etc....
now. lets say i dont want the hind or apache to spawn. instead, i'd like an M1, or T72. and lets say there's not already a "spawner" that spawns these types of vehicles. then i could change the chopperspawner to spawn these vehicles instead of the choppers. but i keep using chopperspawner in my ObjectSpawns.con. i know that seems counterintuitive, but it's just the way it works. i hope that explains stuff a little better.
