Can anyone explain other than the command line isheatseeking 1 why a heat seeker goes to heat?

From an AI point of view i understand there are assigned temperatures to various vehicles and other stuff but what about regular conquest?

In DCX the heliflares and airplaneflares are defensive flares to dodge heat seeks.

I have ported them into POE and the flares are visible but not functioning. Heat seek rockets still go for the helo.

Another thing i dont understand is a mutt has an engine and we have flying mutts on some maps. A heat seek rocket wont lock onto it (its generally idling - might be the reason) but it has heat.

Any ideas on how to make the flares have heat so heat seek rockets go to them instead of the helo?

it might be that the flares aren't hot enough, try increase the heat of the flares and/or decreasing the heat of the chopper

Can you provide an example of code for this increase or decrease in heat. I am looking to see what works in conquest.

Unfortunately I dont see any tuts dealing with heat attributes. Various posts have been made concerning AI and heat attributes but nothing on conquest or customcombat.

Wait, is this BFV? I never knew of heat seeking properties in BF1942 other than AI. But in the AI they could have called the attribute anything, since it just decides where the AI is more likely to go.
