Well....there isn't alot of that out there for this game. I'd love to be part of a larger project (even just running my server was enough...people telling me they liked it I'd do that again if I could afford for it to be empty all but a few days a week) but the time for those is long past for the most part.

I didn't know BG42 was still being updated/people still played it.

I partly agree with mr mod's statement also, as for quite a while I was rather fine with modding for my own ends alone but I got so bored of it that I don't even play much anymore.

Didn't criticize you. It's cool if you get enough motivation out of the work itself. I myself would only be modding for moddings sake until initial motivation leaves me. Happened to me with other games before...creating a few cool maps/contents here and there, then feeling it doesn't have much more to offer and abandoning it

BG42 is the only big mod still being strongly alive.

Recently (July) the new version 1.6 came out (which btw is absolutely awesome) and plans for further releases are rolling in all the time. So much to mod, so little time...

See..that's how I feel. I did all I could and I had no more motivation anymore so I just stopped.

I just like creating stuff. I rarely even add the stuff I make to mods.
I aspire to be a 3d artist for a gaming industry at some point and so I'm really just worried about what I make. and that's enough for me. even if no one sees it.

What about that Interstate mod of F0ok? Thought that was still active.

I didn't count Interstate 'cause I meant the big WW2 mods, my bad.

And @mrhow:
I absolutely understand that and it's an absolutely sufficient reason. Though I advise you to not pinpoint only on creating cool stuff, but to get direct contact to the industry. Go apply for some practical months in a studio, there are plenty studios looking for new faces (especially cause they don't have to pay that much for them... ), but it will grant you vital first connections.

I once applied at Ubisoft for 6 months of cheap paid work as a game design noob (500€ per month...not much, but it suffices) and it was a really cool time mostly and I'm still in contact with some of the guys there and others I got to know by working there. But game design never really was my first aspiration (though I'd definetly love to work there!) so I returned to studying at good ol' university the following semester and like to keep a small line into the "industry" if I decide to really go working there.


Oh...I just saw your profile and saw you are quite young . Okay, then forget about what I said for now and go finish school first .
