OK, but still what happens when it's gone, I still won't be able to install it again because my Installer will not open at all. I never get to the screen with the checked items. It simply won't open.
EDIT: Ok, I went through and deleted everything it brought up. My installer still won't open, and the patch installer says I have no BFV installed. I also can not play because, according to the game, I have an invalid CD key. Oh, and as a fun added side bonus I CAN'T IMPORT THE DAMN REGISTRY!!! IT WON'T WORK!!! NOW WHAT!?!? And I think somehow this had gone beyond the game, when I try and download something, in the file type box, there is nothing. So I somehow messed up my downloading. I can still download stuff, I just can't see what file type it is until I receive it.


I don't know what it means, I had no other programs running.

Try to restore a backup on your system with windows tools NOW at a time your BfV was working fine
(don't know the exact words as i'm french)
BUT, only one key needs to be deleted!

Browse clicking on the crosses:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/EA GAMES/Battlefield Vietnam
Click on the last folder (Battlefield Vietnam) in the right panel, right click on the key
"INSTALLEDVERSION REG_SZ 1.21.001" and delete it.

Well, see the last restore point for my system is probably very old, I don't want to lose any files. But I can't reinstall the old .reg file because it simply won't let me. I posted the error it gave me, I don't know what to do.

This all started cause I can't install bfv the installer thing won't come up. And where is the "system tool" ?

Start menu(for sure)/applications or programs?/accesories?/system tools?/restore system?...
Can someone confirm this???

Yeah, System Restore is in Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. System Restore doesn't change your documents, only programs and system settings that have been changed, so it's probably worth a shot. As far as the BFV entries in the registry, I'm saying that's what's always worked for me in that situation. If you only deleted BFV entries then there shouldn't be problems with anything else.

After receiving that error when trying to import the registry, did you try restarting, then importing it again?
