Hello,

question:
I would like to have the possibility to run an original map and a map mod on my server (public server)
I tried to rename the original, i tried to repack (and rename) original

but my server keeps crashing every time, i cannot even run other maps unless i delete the faulthy ones from the levelfolder
(battlefield Vietnam, windows server+linux server, Map = oper. flaming dart, mod is running perfect)

I checked about 20 pages of your forum but i couldn't see this anywhere in the subjects.

Any help would be welcome

Org. map and mod map? Eh? Is this the same map your out of luck.
But If your running 2 differant maps and one of them are modded, that's no problem? :shock:

It seams like you haven't got the hang on how ssm works.
If you rename a map, nobody can play it. :roll:
Is it the modded map that crash or the org.?
Who is the faulty one?

It's always nice to get a question that you actually can answer.

BTW I think it's more then 20 pages here. :lol:

hey,
thanks for the reply and sorry that i was unclear.
I made an SSM mod for operation Flaming Dart, actually i just adjusted the _001.rfa in WINRFA.

this means that the map is playing with different vehicules than original, but our players would also like to play the original flaming dart.

This map (or the mod) must be a NON download so everybody can play this without a download first.

the modded version has kept the original name, but we were thinking if we rename the original file it would still play as flaming dart, just a different name for the BSVM server manager.
(so the faulthy one is the original)

it was about 32 that i saw but after 20 pages and several hours i gave up hope.

but if i read it clearly i can not run 2 operation flaming darts ? is there really no chance ?
ist there something that i can make 2 mods for 1 map than maybe and run both ?

I'm pretty sure you cant without changing the map name, and then when you change the name its automatically a download only map.

Only way is to run two servers.

Becouse you can't make the same patchfile do two differant things when same map loads.

In thread 21 that you didn't read, I think I said that you can have a third program that changes patchfile every 20 minutes or so, depending how long your map runs.

Creative mind and common sence never hurts to have here.

In windows you have a program, don't know the english word for it though.
Schedulemaker or something.

Or let be your friend.

If you ask me if this is a good idea, I would say; NO!

If patchfile is replaced while it's loaded, server crashes the hard way.
You can't delete it when server is running, only replace it.

just a little thought here, would it be possible to change/mod lets say the coop part of a map, so it runs like a modded conquest? or vice versa?
