So whenever a change is made such as adding vehicles or changing vehicles. I firstly start with the original map each time or do i start with the previous patched rfa file.

For example if the orignal map had been patched once, and the first patch say for Hue was Hue_001.rfa and I wanted to make an additional change to vehicles, would I use the conquest file in the patch or the original map?

Secondly, do i delete previous patched files when i make an updated change.

For example do I retain the Hue_001.rfa file and create another patch file called say Hue_002.rfa and have two patch files?

Thirdly what are the alt files? For example Hue_alt.rfa that i can see?

Lastly, does it matter what order I re pack .con files when recreating the .rfa file? If my bfv has a different pathway than the standard path, do i have to alter the packing order to compensate for that?

Very nice tutorial from Urglub on how to make a patchfile:

viewtopic.php?f=23&t=3020

I would make a new patchfile for any changes you want to make, not change the one already with the game. The tutorial above tells you how to get the latest information from the _001 patchfile for the BFV maps. If you don't use the info in the latest patch file from EA you might end up leaving out ObjectSpawners or static objects, which would not work out very well.

Also, hue_alt is called Reclaiming Hue, ho_chi_minh_alt is Cambodian Incursion. I also think there's an alternate version of Quang Tri as well. I believe they were meant for the Evolution game mode, which I have never actually seen it used, but they are technically different maps than the original one. You would not mess with them for a patch file unless of course you're using that map.
