1. Make sure you are connecting to the right port. BFSM/BFRM do not connect on the same port as the normal game port.
2. Are you connecting from another computer inside the same router? If so, use 192.168.x.x addresses and not the external IP.
3. Or maybe your ports are not forwarded properly.

You want to open game.rfa, the navigate to the directory listed. You use a program like WinRFA (found in the Downloads section) to open game.rfa

Remove critical damage. Meaning, it will never catch fire, it will just die. I forget which line it is, but I would know it if I saw it.
